Over 150 fishermen released
AHMEDABAD, April 17: India on Sunday released 156 Pakistan fishermen jailed in the western state of Gujarat as a humanitarian gesture. The fishermen, arrested during the past year for illegally fishing in Indian waters of the Arabian Sea, are being taken to Wagah, police said.
They are expected to cross into Pakistan on Monday, said Manoj Shashidhar, superintendent of police in the Gujarat city of Jamnagar. The release of the fishermen comes during the visit by President Musharraf. —AFP
