Concern over human rights violation
LARKANA, April 17: Violation of human rights in Sindh is on the rise where rights groups are being stopped from working against perpetrators of violence. This was stated by representatives of several social organizations at a seminar here on Sunday. The Justice and Peace Commission organized the seminar in collaboration with the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan.
They said the people were feeling insecure under the feudal system because the government had failed to provide security to them.
They said fundamental rights of people were being trampled and despite opposition from different forums of the civil society, the government was legalizing the jirga system in the country.
They said killing women on the pretext of karo-kari only suited the interests of the influential.
They said absence of punishment coupled with the rise in ignorance was the contributing factor in deepening the roots of feudalism.
They said no one dared to rise against such injustice but they vowed that crimes against women and violation of human rights would be opposed.
