Talks with opposition to continue, says PM

ISLAMABAD, Apr 16: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has said that the government would continue talks with all political parties to seek consensus on national issues.

“The talks will continue with the People’s Party and other parties, as they all stand united on issues of national importance,” he said in a talk-show on a private news channel on Saturday.

To a question he said

all political parties must function within the ambit of

law. Regarding giving permission to political parties to

take out processions, he said the people did not want any disruption in their normal activities.

“Moreover there is a risk that some miscreants would misuse the event for their own nefarious designs,” the Prime Minister added.

He said the policy and thinking of the government –- provincial or federal — on issues of national concern remained the same, and the government-opposition dialogue would also continue.—APP
