Court witness shot dead

KASUR, April 16: A court witness was shot dead on Saturday by some unknown assailants at Pattoki. Rashid alias Boota of Gujjarpura, Lahore, came to Pattoki to record his statement in a court. He was on his way back after recording his statement when armed men opened fire on him, killing him instantly. The outlaws managed to escape from the scene. The motive behind the murder was said to be an old enmity.

Pattoki police are going into the matter.

MISSING MAN: The man who disappeared some 10 days ago was found dead on Saturday in the fields at Kot Sardar Muhammad village, Khuddian. Police sent the body of Waqar to Kasur DHQ Hospital for autopsy.

Khuddian police are looking into the matter.

ARRESTED: A-Division police on Friday night arrested eight stage artists, including six women, on charges of using foul language and vulgar dances.

The arrests of Sheeza Malik, Mehwish, Urooj Khan, Rukhsana Kanwal, Abida Baig, Rizwan and Iqbal were made from Khan Mahal cinema.

Cases have been registered against them.
