KARACHI: Bureaucrats told to play due role

KARACHI, April 15: Sindh Chief Minister Arbab Ghulam Rahim has said that responsible, honest and hard working bureaucracy could do much better for the country’s administrative system. The bureaucracy plays an important role for the development of administrative infrastructure, immediate dispensation of justice and resolution of the problems of common people.

He expressed these views while addressing the participants of 79th Advance Course in Public Management from NIPA, who called on him at Chief Minister’s House here on Friday evening.

The chief minister also apprised them of his recent visits to various countries and said that Germans and Chinese were coming over here for putting up coal-fired power plants. According to the Germans, he said, higher employment opportunities would be generated with these projects. He said that German firm would also explore gas availability in Thar.

Appreciating the performance of police, he said that they laid down their lives for maintaining law and order. —APP
