KARACHI, April 14: The nazims of various towns of the city belonging to the Al-Khidmat group on Thursday appealed to the Sindh government to support them in strengthening the city’s infrastructure instead of creating hurdles. In a joint press statement, eight town nazims of the Al-Khidmat group alleged that state machinery was being used to harass them after the MQM’s ministers had failed in pointing out any financial or administrative irregularity against them.

“Now, the ministers and advisers of the MQM have resorted to cheap tactics including raids on the residences of town nazims, transfers of town officials including peons, gardeners,” they charged, regretting that the nazim of North Nazimabad Town was sent to jail in a fake case on the MQM’s directives.

They said that instead of helping them, the provincial ministers and advisers were not only interfering into town matters, but they used threats and even force against elected representatives.—PPI
