ISLAMABAD, April 11: Portuguese Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Francisco Antonio Torres Vidal Abreu called on his Pakistani counter part, Admiral Shahid Karimullah, at his office in the Naval Headquarters here on Monday. During the meeting various aspects relating to further promotion of existing ties between the two navies came up for discussion. The Portuguese naval chief appreciated the role of Pakistan Navy in the Coalition Maritime Campaign.

Meanwhile, the wife of Portuguese naval chief, Maria Laura, also spent a busy day starting with a briefing on the role of Pakistan Naval Women Association (PNWA) and its welfare activities. Later, she visited a special children school being run by the PNWA.

CJCSC: The visiting Portuguese naval chief also called on Chairman Joint Chief of Staff Committee Gen Ehsanul Haq at the Joint Staff Headquarters, Chaklala, on Monday.

Admiral Abreu remained with Gen Ehsanul Haq for some time and discussed matters pertaining to professional interests.
