KARACHI: HEC declares results of MS, MPhil tests


KARACHI, April 11: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has declared the results of the tests for ‘MS / MPhil leading to PhD scholarships for the teachers of less developed universities of Pakistan. The scheme was recently announced by the HEC, which envisages training for 100 outstanding teachers of the public sector varsities in the fields of basic and natural sciences, engineering, social sciences, humanities and technology in Austria, France and Germany.

It is to note that the test for the above-mentioned PhD scholarships was held simultaneously at Nawabshah, Mansehra, Faisalabad, Kohat and Quetta on March 13.

A total of 343 candidates applied for the scholarship scheme while out of these 343 candidates, 313 were found eligible to take the local GRE type test. As per terms and condition of the scheme, the eligible candidates were invited to take the test out of which only 266 candidates appeared at different test centres all over Pakistan and only 41 candidates could secure 50 per cent or higher marks in that test.

These 41 candidates will be invited to appear for the interview session to be scheduled in April. The role numbers of these 41 candidates are:

450001, 450004, 450007, 450011, 450013, 450018, 450025, 450036, 450037, 450038, 460001, 460041, 460044, 460049, 460073, 460077, 460083, 460084, 460085, 460090, 470031, 470033, 470035, 470056, 470064, 470067, 470073, 480002, 480029, 480034, 480057, 490002, 490004, 490018, 490029, 490033, 490040, 490050, 490052, 490065 and 490069.

The successful candidates will be required to prepare research proposals in advance for their PhD studies and present it to the interview panel. They will also be required to bring their original academic and service documents to appear before a team of Austrian, French and German academics.—PPI
