MMA keeps going

FAISALABAD, April 10: MMA activists and leaders staged a demonstration at the Clock Tower intersection against the arrest of religious leaders and their nomination in terrorism cases here on Sunday. They marched through the city roads by carrying banners and placards. They also set up a makeshift protest camp at the Clock Tower intersection against government policies.

The protesters alleged that the government had failed to deliver the goods and was also facing an uphill task on the international platforms. In its sheer frustration, the government was harassing and victimizing the MMA leaders.

They further alleged that underhand deals were being struck with the Indian government over the Kashmir issue and other matters in the name of ‘confidence building measures’.

On other hand, they said that activists and leaders of religious parties were being implicated in false cases of terrorism for raising voice against price-hike and obscenity.

They threatened to come on roads if the arrested MMA leaders were not released immediately.
