Kasur-Ganda Singhwala border may be opened

KASUR, April 8: Foreign Minister Khursheed Mahmood Kasuri said on Friday if India and Pakistan decided to open some other borders, the Kasur-Ganda Singhwala border would also be opened.

At a press conference, he said he had discussed the issue with President Musharraf who would be the first head of state visiting Kasur in district’s history.. Musharraf is due on Monday.

Kasuri said with the construction of a dual carriageway from Lahore to Kasur, which would be inaugurated by the president, both districts would benefit.

He also visited the Kasur Public School, the venue of the president’s public meeting and reviewed security arrangements.

killed: A woman along with her three daughters on Friday burnt alive her daughter-in-law over some domestic dispute at Daokay village, Ilahabad.

Police said Mansab Ali had married Shehnaz Bibi, daughter of Noor Muhammad Tariq, 17 years ago. On Friday, Zarina Bibi, her daughters Sakina, Razia and Samina took Shehnaz in a room, torched her after pouring kerosene oil on her. She sustained burn wounds and died while being taken to hospital.
