Musharraf briefed on talks with Bugti

By Our Reporter

ISLAMABAD April 6: Ruling Pakistan Muslim League (PML) president Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and secretary general Mushahid Hussain Syed called on President Gen Pervez Musharraf here on Wednesday and briefed him on their visit to India and talks with Nawab Akbar Bugti. They also discussed with the president other issues, including upcoming local bodies’ polls and recent political developments like the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal’s strike and the Gujranwala incident.

The president’s ensuing visit to India to watch a cricket match also came under discussion.

The PML leaders’ meeting with the president was overdue for two weeks after beginning of the process of dialogue with Bugti.

They apprised the president about the dialogue and its outcome and assured him of early convening of a meeting of the parliamentary committee on Balochistan to finalise its report for submission to parliament and the government for implementation.
