SAHIWAL, April 6: A man and his minor son were killed while two other family members sustained injuries on Wednesday in an accident on Sahiwal-Pakpattan Road near Chak 111/9-L. Landlord Muhammad Saleem of Makhdoompur, Khanewal, along with his wife, son and uncle was going to Pakpattan by his car (LDC-6208). On the way, he was overcome by dizziness. As a result, he lost control over the steering and the car overturned after hitting a roadside tree. Saleem and his son Arbab (6) died instantly while his wife Farzana and uncle Ghulam Mustafa received serious injuries. They were admitted to the local DHQ Hospital.

Yusafwala police have registered a case.

CONDEMNED: Punjab PPP president Qasim Zia condemned the arrest of MNA Mian Abdul Manan and MMA MNA Hamidullah and demanded their immediate release.

Qasim Zia was talking to reporters after his return from Larkana on Wednesday at a local hotel in the presence of Sahiwal PPP district president Mehr Ghulam Farid Kathia, Noor Shah and Zakir Hussain Braal.

LOOTED: Two motorcyclists looted three passengers on Tuesday night here at Pakpattan Chowk.

Saeed, Iqbal and Muhammad Din came to Sahiwal from Lahore by a bus. They were proceeding to the Grain Market when two armed motorcyclists intercepted them and snatched Rs44,000 in cash and cell phones from them.

Grain Market police have registered a case.
