Two persons try to commit suicide in Haripur

HARIPUR, April 2: Two people, including a married woman, attempted to commit suicide in separate incidents here on Thursday.

According to Khalabat Township police, Yasmeen Bibi, wife of Mohammad Tufail, a resident of village Khairi Kalinjar, was cleaning the room of her father-in-law when got mentally disturbed over some matter and set herself ablaze after dousing her clothes with kerosene oil.

She was taken to the DHQ hospital Haripur, which referred her to the Ayub Medical Complex in Abbottabad in view of her condition. She has received 50 per cent burn injuries.

In the second incident, Tariq, son of Sadiq, a resident of village Dhairi Mansehri Kalinjar, was busy in the preparations of his marriage which was scheduled for next day when area people found him in a seriously injured condition.

Eyewitnesses said that Tariq tried to commit suicide by shooting himself with a gun. He was taken to the Ayub Medical Complex where his condition was reported to be in danger.
