GUJRANWALA, April 1: The Excise and Taxation Department sealed on Friday more than two dozen commercial plazas and other properties of its defaulters. The defaulters could not clear outstanding dues till Friday when the deadline of final notices expired, Excise and Taxation director Sikander Hayat told this correspondent. He said several raiding teams, comprising officials of the department, were constituted for the recovery of the dues from defaulters. He claimed that Rs250 million had been recovered from some of the defaulters during the drive.
The excise official warned that commercial plazas and other properties of the defaulters would not be desealed till the payment of dues.
FREE BOOKS: The Punjab government has provided books for students of primary and elementary schools, which would be distributed free of cost.
