Sialkot case accused plea rejected

By Our Correspondent

GUJRANWALA, March 11: The anti-terrorism court No 1 on Friday rejected the bail plea of former SHO inspector Zulfikar Ali Virk due to his involvement in the Sialkot jail incident.

The SHO pleaded before the court that he was appointed as Zafarwal SHO and had gone to Sialkot jail to help his colleagues during the untoward incident. He claimed that he was not involved in the killing of any judge. But the judge rejected his bail plea when the prosecution opposed it.

The plea of senior police officers and other accused regarding transfer of the case to the district and sessions court did not come up for hearing, and the court adjourned the case till March 18.
