Indian, Japanese teams due today
LAHORE, March 3: Indian and Japanese under-21 hockey teams will be arriving on Friday to take part in the 4-Nation tournament to be played from March 7 at National stadium.
The tournament which ends on March 13 involves, hosts Pakistan, India, South Africa and Japan. South African team will reach on March 5, said Brig (retd) Musarrat Ullah Khan, Secretary, Pakistan Hockey Federation here on Thursday at a news conference.
He said A.S. Bawa from India has been appointed tournament director, Rana Zafar Ullah (Pak) tournament officer, Rashad Mahmood Butt (Pak) umpires, Qazi Masoodur Rauf (Pak) judge, Ravi Irugalbandara (Sri Lanka) as neutral umpire.
"All the participating countries will be having their one umpire each in the penal which comprises Mahmood Anwar Dar (Pak), Suresh Bhatia (India), Satoshi Kondo (Japan), Peter Wright (South Africa).
Following are the names of the teams of Pakistan, South Africa and Japan. PHF, he said, has not yet received the names of players of the Indian team. The meeting of the technical officials of the tournament will be held on March 6.
