Women squash from March 15

ISLAMABAD, Feb 18: The National women squash championship would be played at Wah Cantt from March 15 to 19, said secretary of Pakistan Squash Federation, Wing Commander Zulfiqar Ahmed on Friday.

The final of the championship would coincide with the World Squash Day on March 19. "Our slogan on the day will be to have squash included in Olympics," Zulfiqar said. He said the squash legend Jahangir Khan, now the president of World Squash Federation, would be the guest of honour at the final.

According to him, up to eight foreign players, among them Adrian Grant of England and Ong Beng Hee of Malaysia would figure in the COAS Open squash championship being played here from Feb 25. The main round, after the Feb 25-26 qualifiers, would take place from Feb 27 to March 3 at Mushaf Squash Complex in Pakistan Sports Complex. -APP
