LAHORE, Dec 27: The LSE will introduce new products next year to attract more investors in the share business. "We may come up with products like Future Index and Call & Putt in near future ," Chairman Lahore Stock Exchange Syed Asim Zafar told newsmen here on Monday after Extra-Ordinary General Meeting of the bourse.

He said that the trading floor set up in Faisalabad last month was working smoothly and hoped that it would ultimately generate 20 per cent additional volume for the LSE. He said that Sialkot trading floor would be functional in March and added that similar facilities would be introduced in Gujranwala and Multan.

Responding to a question about new membership of LSE, Mr Zafar said that the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) had asked the bourses not to go for new membership before the demutualization and integration of the stock exchanges.

He said that the next year was very important for the stock exchanges with reference to demutualization and integration process. Referring to December 20 meeting of the bourses with SECP chairman, he said that the demutualization process of the exchanges would begin immediately and would be finalized by the respective stock exchanges by March 31, 2005. -APP
