KARACHI, Dec 21: Asad Rauf and Nadeem Ghauri will be making their Test debut as umpires during next month's two-Test series between Bangladesh and Zimbabwe. Asad will officiate in the first Test being played at Dhaka from Jan 7 to 11 while former slow Test left arm spinner Nadeem will supervise the second Test scheduled to be held at Chittagong from Jan 14 to 18.

Besides supervising a Test match, Nadeem, who had supervised 20 One-day Internationals (ODIs) will be standing in three ODIs after the Test series. Asad will also stand in two ODIs during the BD-Zimbabwe series. International Cricket Council (ICC) will be closely monitoring the performances of some Asian umpires to elevate them to Elite Panel in April 2005. -APP
