KARACHI: Importance of quality education underlined

By Our Reporter

KARACHI, Dec 21: Education has always been a diverse and challenging process. A good educational institution must provide productive and balanced co-curricular activities along with quality education to its students to let them explore and exercise their potential accordingly.

This was stated by Vice-Admiral Mohammad Afzal Tahir, Deputy Chief of Naval Staff, while addressing the Annual Sports Day and Prize Distribution Ceremony 2004 held at Bahria College Karachi, NORE-1 on Tuesday.

The chief guest further said that co-curricular activities prepared the young generations to improve their practical lives at both conscious and subconscious levels, and instil in them the qualities to face the challenges of life in a graceful manner.

He said these activities also inculcate in students the importance to compete well with grace and dignity irrespective of the outcome, saying winning or losing was sometimes immaterial and carried secondary importance.

Earlier, in his welcome address, the Principal of Bahria College, Commander Talib Hussain, presented a detailed report on curricular and co-curricular activities of the college during the current session.

He apprised the audience that the college had recently acquired permanent affiliation both at SSC and HSSC levels with the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education.
