GUJRANWALA, Nov 17: A couple was stabbed to death and three others injured over a marriage issue in Kamoki on Wednesday. Reports said Sakina Bibi of Habibpura married Amjad of Daska on her own accord.
On Wednesday, the couple visited the house of a relative in Kamoki where some family members of Sakina attacked them with knives and axes, killing them on the spot. They also injured a guest, Zaheer Abbas, his wife Safeena Bibi and relative Razia Bibi when they came to the rescue of the couple. Police have registered a case and are investigating.
MURDERED: Four people were murdered in and around the city in separate incidents on Wednesday. Jamil of Naushera Road was on his way home when his rival, Abdul Sattar, attacked him with a knife. He was taken to hospital where he died.
A trader, Ehsan, was present at the outhouse of Chaudhry Nawaz to purchase paddy when Aslam joked him. Following an exchange of hot words, Aslam shot Ehsan dead. Nazim Husain was shot dead allegedly by his rival, Qamar Husain, over a petty issue in Ghausia village, Kamoki. A landlord, Afzal, was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Dilawar Khurd, Wazirabad.
