ISLAMABAD, Nov 1: At least nine people were killed and many wounded in a fierce clash on Monday between soldiers and police in Afghanistan's southern Zabul province.
Afghan Islamic Press said both sides used heavy weaponry during fighting in Qalat.
Quoting witnesses, the AIP said the fight had ended but troops have surrounded the police headquarters and US jets were also seen flying over the area.-dpa
