Beijing backs talks

NEW DELHI, Oct 20: China on Wednesday supported India's efforts to solve the Jammu and Kashmir issue through talks.
"This question must be peacefully settled through dialogue," China's State Councillor Tang Jiaxuan said while talking to the media.
Mr Tang is on a three-day visit to India, the first by a senior Chinese leader after the Manmohan Singh government assumed office in May.
