Returns: office hours extended

KARACHI, Sept 28: All the income tax offices will remain open beyond their official working hours during the last two days i.e. Sept 29 and 30 to receive income tax returns.

The Central Board of Revenue has directed all the regional commissioners of Income Tax and Director General Large Taxpayers Units (LTUs) Karachi and Lahore to keep their offices open till late hours.

On September 29, all the tax offices will remain open up to 8pm, and on the last date of filing returns (Sept 30), the offices will receive returns till 12 midnight. Similarly, the State Bank and National Bank of Pakistan have also made special arrangements for receiving tax payments during the last two days (Sept 29 and 30).

The authorized branches of the SBP and NBP will stay open during these days beyond their official working hours. Arrangements have also been made to pass on the collected tax by the authorized branches of NBP to respective offices of the State Bank on the same day.
