ATTOCK, Sept 13: An American consultant of Ghazi Barotha Hydro Project (GBHP) was found dead at his residence in the Saddar police station jurisdiction here on Monday morning.

Police and GBHP sources told this reporter that the 50-year- Rahmon Surgoan, an economic consultant of a US-based company, Harza, had been working with the Pakistan Hydro Consultant (PHC) for the last three years.

On weekend evening he left the office after finishing his routine work. When the domestic servant of the deceased came for work on Monday morning he found Mr Surgoan dead at his residence at Wapda Colony, Barotha. Later his body was shifted to the district headquarters hospital, Attock.

However the GBHP authorities did not report the incident to the local police. The duty officer of the Saddar police station and the district police officer showed their complete ignorance in this regard.

When contacted, the medical superintendent of the hospital, Dr Fayaz Ahmed Khan, confirmed the report to Dawn and said that the body of the deceased had been brought to the hospital by Syed Siddique Akbar, an employee of the GBHP.
