Two foreigners arrested for Al Qaeda links

By Saleem Shahid

QUETTA, Sept 1: Law-enforcement agencies have arrested an Egyptian and a Saudi national for their alleged links with Al Qaeda.

Abdul Sattar Shariful Misri, an Egyptian, and Abdul Hakim, a Saudi national, were taken into custody on Sunday in Quetta," sources said on Wednesday.

They said police, the anti-terrorism force and intelligence officials arrested the foreigners from a house in the Ghousabad area.

The suspects were shifted to Islamabad after initial interrogation, the sources said. Abdul Hakim was 24 years old and Shariful Misri was 45, they said.

APP ADDS: Al Misri was an "important" Al Qaeda operative, Federal Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmad said.
