SIALKOT, Aug 28: The Punjab government has sanctioned Rs20 million for the construction of Government Girls College, Kapurwali, in Sialkot tehsil. This college has been attributed to late Chaudhry Zahoor Elahi.

This was stated by Sialkot district Nazim Mian Naeem Javaid while talking to newsmen here on Saturday.

The district Nazim said that the provincial government had also approved the early construction of Chaudhry Zahoor Elahi Road from Kapurwali village to Sialkot airport.

He said that PML president Chaudhry Shujaat Husain and Punjab chief minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi would open these projects on Sept 5 during their visit to Sialkot.

Both the dignitaries, he said, would also address a big public gathering at Kapurwali village. They would also meet with the delegations of Sialkot chamber of commerce and industry, CPLC and Sialkot district bar association.

HARDSHIPS: The poor and needy patients are facing hardships due to non-availability of medicines in all government hospitals in the Sialkot district.

This was alleged by opposition leader in Sialkot district assembly Chaudhry Qamar Abbas Chand while talking to newsmen here on Saturday.

He said that the district government's claim of spending millions of rupees for the provision of modern health facilities to the patients in the government hospitals was only an

eyewash.

There was an acute shortage of zakat and Baitul Maal funds even in Government Allama Iqbal Memorial Hospital and Government Sardar Begum Memorial Hospital, Sialkot, for purchasing medicines for the poor patients. He said similar situation also persisted in all government hospitals at Daska and Pasrur tehsils.
