OUR REPORTER ADDS: The CEC announced that it was updating electoral rolls which were earlier prepared for local government elections in 2000-2001, an official statement of the ECP said.

It asked voters to file their claims for inclusion of names, objections for deletion of entries and applications for correction in the electoral rolls with the registration and assistant registration officers by Aug 31, 2004.

The draft electoral rolls have already been displayed throughout the country since Aug 9 in the offices of assistant election commissioners/registration officers at all district headquarters.

Similarly, these rolls have also been displayed at offices of assistant registration officers and at all prominent places in each electoral area for public inspection.
