PESHAWAR: NWFP governor leaves for UK


PESHAWAR, July 12: Governor Iftikhar Hussain Shah on Monday left Islamabad for Manchester on a four-day official visit to the United Kingdom.

Invited by the Liverpool Hope University, the governor would be the chief guest at the convocation of the university on Tuesday, said an official press release here.

Mr Shah during his tour of the university would have discussion with Prof Gerald J. Pilly and other senior managers of the Hope University College, focusing mainly on the higher education in the UK and changes and challenges thereof.

His tour programme also includes joining staff, students and families for a celebratory graduation reception, attending degree ceremony including participation in full academic procession at Liverpool Cathedral and a reception in the Great Hall of Everton Campus.

The governor would meet Pakistani students from Liverpool Hope University College and visit Liverpool Town Hall and the Pakistan community centre.

On Thursday he would arrive in Cry Field Old Farmhouse where he would attend a degree convocation lunch hosted by the vice- chancellor of the university of Warwick and visit city college Coventry besides visiting Red Cliff House. -APP
