ISLAMABAD, June 18: The Election Commission of Pakistan on Friday allowed unification of five political entities namely PML (Zia), PML (Jinnah), PML (Junejo), PML (Functional) and Sindh Democratic Alliance (SDA) with PML (Q) to constitute Pakistan Muslim League (PML).
The Election Commission, exercizing powers under Article 6 of the EC Order, 2002, read with Article 9B, granted the common application for unification/merger and ordered that the documents of Pakistan Muslim League filed with the EC be kept on record.
Accordingly, PML(Q) and other parties have now all united in the PML, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Irshad Hasan Khan declared in his order issued here Friday.
PML President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, party leaders S.M. Zafar advocate, Muhammad Ali Durrani, Kamil Ali Agha, Syed Mushahid Hussain, Begum Shahnaz Sheikh, Sardar M. Sana Ullah Khan Mastikhail, Imtiaz Ahmed Shaikh, Religious Affairs Minister Mohammad Ijaz ul Haq and Munwar Qutubuddin Khan were present before the election commission on Friday.
