By Our Reporter

ISLAMABAD, June 18: The chairman, Central Board of Revenue (CBR), Abdullah Yuosuf on Friday said that the CBR would achieve the annual revenue target of Rs580 billion set for 2004-05 without any downward revision.

He was talking to officers of CBR who were engaged with the budget making exercise, said an official announcement issued on Friday. "Although the target is aggressive and challenging but with hard work and sincere efforts of the officers of the CBR and its field formations and necessary changes being made in the economic policies of the country, it would not be difficult to achieve," he remarked.

He was confident of achieving Rs510 billion tax collection target for the current fiscal. The chairman said that the taxation measures announced in the budget would result in generating economic activities in the country.
