ISLAMABAD, June 5: The Senate Chairman Mohammedmian Soomro has urged the newly appointed trade ambassadors, counsellor generals, commercial counsellors and commercial secretaries posted abroad to focus their attention on promoting Pakistan's export.

The chairman stated this in a meeting with a delegation of trade officers here on Saturday.

The government had recently appointed 18 trade ambassadors, counsellor generals, commercial counsellors and commercial secretaries to be posted at Moscow, New Delhi, Brussels, Hong Kong, Montreal, Warsa, Mexico, New York, Los Angeles, Jeddah, Kuala Lumpur, Seoul, Hamburg, Sao Paulo, Geneva, Johannesburg, Dhaka and Almaty.

According to an official announcement, the chairman Senate asked the trader officers to focus their attention on the economic and commercial interest of the country.

He said that they should maintain close liaison with the chambers of commerce and industries and other relevant organizations at home and facilitate the business community by providing updated information on business opportunities in these countries.

The trade officers briefed the chairman about their new assignments. They also met with the ambassadors of the different countries, who were especially invited by the chairman Senate for the purpose, added the announcement.
