PESHAWAR: Rahimdad made PPP provincial president

BY Bureau Report

PESHAWAR, May 2: Pakistan People's Party chairperson Benazir Bhutto has nominated Rahimdad Khan as PPP's new chief for the NWFP, after the resignation tendered by Khwaja Mohammed Hoti.

She has also nominated a new entrant, MPA Zahir Ali Shah, as new president of PPP, Peshawar. Mr Shah was the only MPA who had voted for PPP nominee, Sardar Ali Khan, in the Senate elections.

Mr Khan, who hails from Shergarh in Mardan, was provincial vice-president and member of its central executive committee. He is respected by PPP leaders and workers alike.

Mr Hoti had said that he submitted his resignation to the PPP chairperson in Dubai, as it was difficult for him to continue with his political activities in the present circumstances. Most of the PPP leaders lauded the nomination of Mr Khan as PPP provincial chief.
