HYDERABAD, April 27: The district council in its meeting on Tuesday adopted a resolution against Taluka City Nazim Haji Moinuddin Sheikh for what it called his aggressive attitude towards union council Nazims. The resolution demanded action against the nazim.

Speaking on the occasion, Dilshad Khan and Majeed Qureshi complained about the dumping of refuse outside a private school on orders of Mr Shaikh and suspension of water pipeline work in a union council.

Sultan Khan and Hussain Bux Hussaini said that members settled their personal scores in the council meeting and called for inquiry to ascertain facts as 90 per cent of charges were wrong. Ibrahim Chishti said that the law and order would not improve in the city if the supply of polluted water was not stopped to Latifabad taluka.

The meeting also adopted a resolution of Ghulam Hussain Magsi, calling for an end to a shortage of water in Tando Mohammad Khan taluka. Some members announced donating hand-pumps from their accounts.

The convenor also sought an explanation from the director- general HDA for attributing some utterances to the district Nazim after Rana Mehmood Ali said that the DG demanded notification of house's committee.

The chair noted that EDOs education and revenue were not behaving properly as questions related to revenue had not been answered. He said that gutters and drains that had claimed lives of children still remained uncovered. He appreciated RPO Bachal Sanghri for directing police officials to ensure that buffaloes should not enter the source of water supply to Latifabad.

The convenor observed that he monitored the situation and it would definitely improve in one week. Convenor Nawab Rashid Ali said that EDOs were not respecting the district council. He directed the council officer to write a letter to the DCO to attend the meeting on Wednesday and explain why EDOs avoided attending the council session.
