SIALKOT, April 25: A leading exporter was killed while pilot and a technician were injured in an air crash at Loopowali village near Sambrial, Daska tehsil, on Sunday morning.

Sheikh Mohammad Asif, the owner of the Rajex Group of Industries, was coming from Lahore when his personal plane crashed after hitting a tree while landing. Sheikh Asif died on the spot, while pilot Yasir and technician Abdul Jabbar sustained serious injuries.

The injured were taken to the Allama Iqbal Memorial Hospital. Sheikh Asif's funeral was held in the afternoon. The industrialist had built a new runway near Loopowali for his personal use and its inauguration ceremony was to be held on Sunday. Meanwhile, the local business community has announced a three-day mourning.
