BEIJING, April 25: Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali will inaugurate a first-ever investment conference in Hong Kong on Monday. Official sources told APP here that leading Chinese companies and Pakistani businessmen have been invited to attend the conference.

The sources hoped the conference would help undertaking joint ventures and seeking more Chinese investment in the country. The participants will also include representatives of Chambers of Commerce from Hong Kong and the Chinese major cities Guangzhou, Shanghai and Shenzen.

Pakistan has already held successful investment conferences in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou in recent years. The sources hoped that the conference will be a major step forward in promoting bilateral exchanges and economic cooperation among the businessmen of the two countries.

The potential sectors, where the two sides can cooperate include telecommunications, oil and gas, textiles, food processing and packaging units, banking and financial services, electronics-consumer items and manufacturing, information technology, construction material, fruit processing and chemicals. -APP
