Commodore Nayyar promoted

ISLAMABAD, April 23: Commodore Nayyar Iqbal, Commander Logistics of Pakistan Navy, has been promoted to the rank of Rear Admiral.

Rear Adm Iqbal joined the Pakistan Navy as a cadet in December 1970 and was commissioned in the engineering branch of Pakistan Navy on June 1, 1973. He later specialised in mechanical engineering in 1974.

He has on a number of appointments both afloat and ashore including Captain Fleet Maintenance Group. On April 10, he assumed the charge of commander Logistics Pakistan Navy. For his meritorious services, he has also been decorated with Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military).

Rear Adm Iqbal is masters in strategic studies and a graduate of PN War College as well as National Defence College, Pakistan.
