KARACHI: Arrest of inspector's killers ordered


KARACHI, April 23: The Sindh government has ordered the arrest of the killers of Inspector Taufiq Zahid, who was shot dead in a firing incident in a mosque in F. B. Area on Friday.

Sindh chief minister, Sardar Ali Mohammad Mahar and Advisor on Home Affairs Aftab Sheikh condemned the murder of the inspector.

The chief minister directed the IGP Sindh and other law-enforcement agencies to make fool-proof security arrangements in the month of Rabiul Awal so that no such incident takes place in future.

Mr Mahar, in his condolence message to the family of the deceased police officer, prayed to Almighty Allah to rest the departed soul in eternal peace, and grant courage and fortitude to the members of the bereaved family.

Advisor to CM on Home Affairs Aftab Ahmed Shaikh said that the killers of police inspector Zahid Taufiq will be taken to task and necessary instructions have been issued for their arrest.

He was talking to newsmen at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where he reached soon after receiving report of murder of Inspector Taufiq Zahid. Meanwhile, IGP Sindh Syed Kamal Shah has directed the Capital City Police Officer Karachi to make the force at police stations more alert, as well as activate the investigation branch to curb crimes.

He said the police should act on complaints from citizens. Taking notice of complaints about delay in the registration of FIRs, he said such complaints should not be ignored. -PPI/APP
