FIH rules violated

KARACHI, April 22: International Hockey Federation (FIH) rules are being violated at the ongoing Junior Asia Cup hockey. Presence of unauthorised persons at field jury table was conspicuous since only maximum four officials are allowed to sit on table according to FIH rules, while five people sat on the table during India-Sri Lanka game on Thursday.

Neither field jury nor umpires took notice of breach of rule during Wednesday's Pakistan-Chinese Taipei match in which Chinese Taipei players could be seen with their shirts outside. Few South Korean players also wore white shoes on Wednesday while playing against Japan and some China players also wore light colour shoes against India.

According to rules, players should wear predominantly dark colour shoes with their shirts tucked in. Interestingly, Pakistan team started warming-up near sidelines in the second half during the Japan-South Korea game, forcing the umpire to ask them to leave the area.
