KARACHI, April 18: A comprehensive network of roads and highways in a country not only guarantees its prosperity and development, but also adds to the beauty of its cities.
These views were expressed by Sindh chief minister's advisor on Katchi Abadis and Special Development, Wasim Akhtar, while inaugurating the construction of two roads in Orangi Town, UC-4, on Sunday.
The 24,000-feet-long link road would be constructed with a cost of Rs0.68 million in 60 days, while the other 72,000-feet-long road would be completed in 120 days with a cost of Rs4.1 million, he said.
Mr Akhtar, on the occasion, directed the officials concerned present there to appropriately utilize the funds, so that the people could get maximum benefit. He also directed them to complete the construction works within the stipulated time.
The advisor asked the people to submit their complaints and suggestions with the government, so that other such public-friendly schemes could be undertaken. MNA Abdul Qadir Khanzada, MPA Abdul Qudoos, Orangi Town's Nazim Shaikh Mohammad Feroze also spoke on the occasion. The town's municipal administration is managing the construction of these roads, which would benefit hundreds of thousands of people. -PPI
