TULLAMORE, April 17: The European Union said on Saturday that the 'roadmap' to Middle East peace was the only way to end the conflict, after a controversial deal struck this week between Israel and the United States.
In a statement, EU foreign ministers restated the bloc's support for a negotiated settlement to create a Palestinian state living in peace beside Israel 'within recognized and secure borders'.
"The Union reaffirms its belief that the roadmap represents the only route to achieving such an outcome," said the statement issued at the end of two-day EU talks in central Ireland.-AFP
