KARACHI: Govt taking steps to curb crime, says governor


KARACHI, April 3: Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad said on Saturday that steps taken by the government for curbing terrorism have been acclaimed in the country and abroad and added that services of law-enforcement agencies officials were highly praiseworthy for maintaining law and order.

Speaking at a meeting held here at the Governor's House, he underlined the need for working with the same vigour for elimination of other crimes persisting in the society.

He directed the officers of LEAs to conduct a survey of crimes at district and town levels and compile a record of incidents of dacoities, robberies, highway looting and others so that a strategy could be chalked out for their eradication.

The meeting reviewed the law and order situation of the province.-PPI
