ISLAMABAD, March 16: The PML (Functional group) has withdrawn all conditions for joining a unified Pakistan Muslim League and conveyed its acceptance of the formula put forward by S.M.Zafar during a meeting with the party's president, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain , PML-F's chief organizer Kunwar Qutubuddin said here on Tuesday.

Heads of the five PML factions along with Imtiaz Sheikh's faction of the Sindh Democratic Alliance had met last week with Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain in the chair but had failed to hammer out their differences on some issues and the PML-F leaders had requested for time to consult Pir Pagara.

The PML-F's primary demand was that its nominees be appointed as secretary-general and vice-president of the unified league. Kunwar Qutbuddin said that the party's delegation had reassured Chaudhry Shujaat of its cooperation in efforts.

According to the three-tier unification formula, submitted by Senator S.M. Zafar, the general councils of all party factions would meet separately to amend their respective constitutions and remove prefixes like F, J, and Q from their respective party names to pave the way for renaming the unified party.

A three-member delegation, led by PML-F's acting president Sultan Mehmud Khan had called on Chaudhry Shujaat on Monday and conveyed to him the formal acceptance of S.M.Zafar formula.
