SHIKARPUR, March 12: Atta chakki owners on Thursday demanded that the food department should supply wheat to the district as per the fixed quota.

They said the food department supplied 3,000 bags of wheat against the fixed quota of 15,000 per month which could not fulfil the needs of 500,000 people of the district.

An emergent meeting of the atta chakki association district Shikarpur demanded that the Sindh government should supply wheat to atta chakki as per quota sanctioned by the government.

SCHOLARSHIP: Students of the technical institutions have complained that they have been deprived of scholarship of Rs1,000 introduced by the ministry of religious affairs (MORA).

It was learnt that the Sindh zakat council had stopped the distribution of MORA scholarship to the students of technical institutes.

The students urged the zakat council to release MORA scholarship so that students could continue their technical education while clearing their monthly fees and other dues.
