FAISALABAD: Processionist held with guns, bullets

FAISALABAD, March 3: Police arrested a man with guns and bullets from main Zuljinnah procession near Narwala Chowk on Tuesday. A police source told this scribe on Wednesday that some mourners noted suspicious activities of a person roaming around a water stall near Narwala Chowk.

They informed a police team which nabbed him without any resistance. They recovered two Kalashnikovs, a mauser and a number of bullets from his possession.

He said police have shifted the man to an undisclosed place for interrogation. When contacted, Kotwali SHO denied the arrest of a suspect, while eyewitnesses claimed that police had arrested a man.

SHO BOOKED: The Anti-Corruption Establishment registered two separate cases against Samundri Sadar SHO for taking bribe here on Wednesday. The cases against inspector Wali Muhammad were registered on the complaints of Muhammad Ali of Chak 375-GB and Bakhsha of Chak 217-GB. The complainants alleged that the SHO had received thousands of rupees from them for providing favour in criminal cases.
