Israel's military sales to India double

By Our Correspondent

WASHINGTON, March 3: The deal to sell Phalcon radar systems to India more than doubles Israel's military exports to that country, from $720 million last year to more than $3 billion for the radars alone.

Reports, published in several US newspapers on Tuesday, said that even before the Phalcon deal, Israel was already the second-biggest exporter of weaponry to India.

Israel's security cabinet on Sunday approved the $1.1 billion sale of three airborne radar systems to India, the biggest move yet in a burgeoning military relationship between the two countries.
