HRSP award for Nasrullah

LAHORE, Jan 17: The Human Rights Society of Pakistan (HRSP) has conferred its awards upon four important persons, including the 'Father of Democracy' the late Nawabzada Nasrullah Khan for their meritorious services.

This was the second HRSP award bestowed upon Nawabzada Nasrullah Khan, first one in 1980 when he was in jail during the Martial Law regime of the late Gen Ziaul Haq and now posthumously after his death.

Three other persons who were given awards were human rights activist Afrasiab Khattak from Peshawar, neurosurgeon Dr Adeebul Hassan Rizwi from Karachi and educationist and social welfare activist Mrs Surriya Anwar, chairperson of the chain of SOS village schools.

The awards were conferred at the 23rd annual ceremony of the HRSP held at a hotel with its chairman SM Zafar in the chair. Before conferring the awards and distributing shields citations elaborating the services rendered by them in their respective fields of national activities were read out.
