ISLAMABAD: Tax return under SAS ordered

ISLAMABAD, Nov 8: Federal Tax Ombudsman Justice (retired) Saleem Akhtar has asked the Central Board of Revenue to accept the tax returns of a complainant under the self-assessment scheme (SAS).

The ombudsman observed that the complainant’s case be excluded from the list of total cases audit and return for the assessment year 2002-03 be accepted.

The decision was taken after a Faisalabad textile company complained against the tax officials for selecting its case for total audit under para 9(a)(ii) of the self-assessment scheme.
