Transporters observe strike

MITHI, Nov 1: Transporters observed a strike for 10 hours here on Saturday to protest against challans of their vehicles.

The district and sessions judge had directed the transporters two days back to charge prescribed fares from passengers but they continued to charge higher fares. After some passengers made a complaint, a judicial magistrate challaned and fined some buses.

The people of Thar have demanded that the Road Transport Authority secretary and the Tharparkar district administration should take action against those who were violating fare lists.
