Apple Show

QUETTA, Oct 8: The Balochistan Governor, Owais Ahmed Ghani on Tuesday inaugurated Pakistan Apple Show, 2003, at a local hotel. The Apple show was organized by Export Promotion Bureau in collaboration with the agricultural department, Balochistan.

Around 200 apple growers from different areas of the country including Balochistan were participating in the apple show, displaying different kinds of apples.

The provincial governor, after inaugurating the show, visited the stalls and asked questions about the apple growers regarding their crop. He lauded the efforts of the growers and urged upon them to use modern agriculture technology for better apple crop.

He said that departments concerned and growers should pay attention to the quality of apple and other fruits for its export to Gulf States and other countries. He said that Export Promotion Bureau should provide all necessary facilities to the growers for finding out market abroad.

Sardar Mohammad Ali Jogezai, vice president, Pakistan Federation of Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PFCCI) briefed the Governor about the problems being faced by the apple and fruit growers and exporters. He said that despite promises made by various federal ministers and Prime Minister apple processing plant was not set up in Quetta.
